Department of<\/span><\/span> <\/span>Sustainable Development Finance<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The scientific, research and didactic issues of the current Department of Sustainable Development Finance have their basis in the development of economics – in the field of industrial economics. We associate the beginnings of industrial economics at our University with the activity of prof. Dr. Eng. Stanis\u0142aw Bie\u0144kowski from the Lviv University of Technology – one of the founders of the science of organization and management as well as enterprise economics in Poland – who in 1937 became the head of the newly established Department of Organization and Management of Enterprises at the Academy of Economics in Krakow. In 1950, along with the transformation of the Academy of Commerce into the state Higher School of Economics, the name of this Department was changed to the Department of Industrial Economics, which in 1958 was renamed the Department of Economics of Industrial Enterprise. In 1963, the Department of Industrial Economics was re-established under the supervision of prof. Dr. J\u00f3zef Gajda, later rector of the WSE. And since then, our Department has been counting its history due to the directions of scientific research and didactics, as well as the development of the staff. In the years 1969-1992, the University (since 1975 the University of Economics) functioned in a changed organizational structure and our Department was part of the Institute of Industrial Economics, next to the Departments of Economics and Organization of Industrial Enterprises, Theory of Organization and Management, and Economics of Construction and Investments. The director of the Institute was prof. J\u00f3zef Gajda, who together with Prof. dr hab. Bronis\u0142aw Byrski and Prof. dr hab. Emil Luchter are the creators of the recognized Krakow School of Economics and programming of industrial development, with particular emphasis on investment efficiency as the basic factor of socio-economic development. In 1992, after another reform, the Department of Industrial Economics was transformed into the Department of Industrial and Environmental Policy under the direction of prof. dr hab. Kazimierz G\u00f3rka (previously the successor of Prof. J\u00f3zef Gajda in this role) at the Faculty of Economics. In 2009, the function of the head of the Department was taken over by prof. dr hab. Joseph Famielec. From May 6, 2020, the Department operates under the name: Department of Sustainable Development Finance. From October 1, 2020, the function of the head of the Department is held by prof. UEK dr hab. Ma\u0142gorzata Kozuch.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
